Astro On The Go Explorer: I Win Samsung Galaxy S4!

Saya menang Samsung Galaxy S4 hanya dengan berlari-lari anak di dalam Sunway Pyramid untuk Astro On-The-Go Explorer event with Joel. Yeah, right. Me and Joel were paired up as #Team17 for this fantastic Astro challenge last Saturday.

How I got to be part of Astro On-The-Go Explorer? Sebab I submit a last minute entry to be part of the participating bloggers: I am the Unstoppable Explorer: The Backpacker.

Ok. Let's cut to the chase. Here are some the best moments I had during the Astro On-The-Go Explorer event with Joel:

1. "Free" iPad was given to both me and Joel. Though a bit confused about who is the pilot and co pilot. Haha! Unlike usual contest, we were loaned with iPads and modem for the race.

2. Paired up with Joel. I was already delighted when i saw his blog title: http://www.leonhart90.blogspot.com/. It means he's wayyyyy younger than me and hopefully knows Sunway Pyramid better than me. And what a wonderful news-he studies nearby, selalu lepak and already did his study about Sunway Pyramid. Double yayyyy!

3. Huffing and puffing a bit throughout the contest, but still manage to get the following awesome pics as part of the race:

We are not actually running, but Joel is tall with long legs. So his two steps, shorty-me need to take 3 steps. Kecian ai.

4. Free Delicious buffet from Delicious! Delicious food, delicious waiter. Erk?? Ye ke?

5. Ogling and feasting my eyes with Astro stars: Aaron Aziz, Johan, JinnyBoy and many more. rugi korang tak join.

6. Mingling with top and popular bloggers: Redmummy, Abang Nara, EyriqazzRawlins Penaberkala, MiraCikcit, Mahamahu and others. eventhough they dont know me. hehe.

7. The BEST part ever : MENANG Samsung Galaxy 4 of course! Although we were confused when we finished it in just 44 mins. And due to some misunderstandings, we do the race twice!!  But worthwhile, so we complain no more  =b

8. Kena puji dengan Joel at his blog entry post-event: Astro On the Go Explorer- Joel's Experience.
I'm really blessed to pair up with him. The race was easy breezy coz somehow we complement each other while trying to solve all the puzzles. I was at 1st worried I wont be much of a help since I rarely watch Astro lately.

How do i foresee myself utilizing Astro On-The-Go in the future? VERY MUCH! The main reason is because I already lose my chance to win additional RM800 from Astro by not being a subscriber. *double sigh*

Another reason, like what was mentioned at I am the Unstoppable Explorer: The Backpacker,I'm a frequent traveller. Not just oversea, but I'm not even really at my house in Malaysia. So for Atika On-The-Go, I really need:
  • Awesome handphone with good battery life, just like Samsung Galaxy S4 that I have won. hehe
  • A good and powerful Power Bank.
  • Astro On-The-Go package.
P/S to NUFFNANG: Don't disqualify me to win the Astro On-The-Go Explorer Best Buzz Bloggers because I won the S4 tauuuuu.. I want to win more!

Some of the pictures above, thanks to Amir Nawami, Nisa Kay, Nuffnang, Rawlins ...

Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™ in Malaysia

Have you heard of Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™? Acer had announced that Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™ is "the world's first ultrabook convertible". Along with its 11.6-inch HD display, 3.06 pounds weight and less than an inch thick, Acer also promises more than 6 hours of battery life, fast boot and resume times and the HDMI and USB 3.0 ports.

On 22 May 2013, Acer will release the Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™  powered by 3rd Generation Intel Core i3 processor. Have a look at the promotional Youtube video for it  (Tiesto in it!!)

Awesome! I really love the video, not your typical promo video. Just by hearing the introduction of the video, straight away you will know: Ultrabook™ Inspired by Intel.

So here's a summary of the powerful Acer Aspire P3 Convertible Ultrabook™: Ultraportable, Detachable, Touch Centric and MultiTasking. Everybody can be like Vernon! hehehe.
Really can wait for it to hit the Malaysian store!

I Am The Unstoppable Explorer:The Backpacker

I am a backpacker, or a flashpacker at some points. That's why I called myself an unstoppable explorer. I don't let any reasons to stop me from travelling few times a year. With limited budget, with only 12 days annual leave (OMG!), with no prior travel experience -  I will make sure it will not disrupt my travel plan!

The most recent challenges I faces was during my 1st backpacker solo trip to Seoul, Korea from 25 April - 1 May. It was my 1st time ever travelling solo, and it was also the 1st time I'm travelling further than Southeast Asia.

Of course I was kinda scared. Not only it was my 1st solo trip, I was also not well-prepared and money was scarce at that time. The only preparation was just printing out few pages on some guides on where to go, where to stay and where to eat. But Alhamdulillah, I manage to handle all the obstacles by making new friends, using my common sense and with a lot of help from the maps! Some of my plans change due to unexpeced encounters with few Malaysian and new Korean friends - but I was flexible and just go through with it.

As a frequent traveler, the most esential gadget is my Android mobile phone. It serves as my phone, my medium to connect to the Internet as well as my faithful camera.

That's also why Astro-On-The-Go is very helpful! Yeah, you can get cable movies from the hotel but most of the time, it is not in English or with a subtitle that I understand. hehe. I'm not exactly a couch potato, but Astro-On-The-Go allows me to explore and watch my favourite programmes and the best of Astro anytime, anywhere.

My Ticket to Nuffnang 6th Birthday Bash

Nuffnang turns 6! Sudah masuk tadika. So sudah pandai dengar muzik. That's why, I created this playlist just for you Nuffnang and other Nuffnangers!
I promise the songs will rock the party when you play it at Lust. Errr, but you have to choose me as a winner la right? *hint hint*

Here is my playlist at Deezer.com, shared at both Facebook and Twitter:
Atika's Playlist on Facebook
Atika's Playlist on Twitter.

Why I chose the songs?

Songs #1: Now You're Gone by Basshunter feat. DJ Mental.
This is interesting. I heard this song while I went shopping at Carrefour. I'm so hooked at this song, and I went to find it. Luckily the home teater showed the title of this song! I jot down the title and searched it at YouTube.

Song #2: 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train.
Hahaha! At 1st I found the music sound familiar, just like the Phantom of the Opera song. When I look at the music video, I was laughing. This is my fav song during my karaoke session.

Song #3: Scream & Shout.
Nothing much to say.. Music is good, but I'm choosing it because "..and Britney, bitch".

Song #4. Bara Bara Bara Bere Bere Bere
Heard it on radio. Felt like dancing. just trying my luck googling the only word I understand, which turns out to be the song title..ahaks.

Song #5. It's My Life -by Bon Jovi
I found this song motivating. And the start of this song- killer!

Movie Review: The Last Stand

Seriously a must-watch movie. You should watch The Last Stand. Nuff said.

As usual, this is another free movie premiere screening invitation I won through ChurpChurp pulak. Went to watch #Churpremiere with Fareed Adaboyas usual at TGV One Utama yesterday. The day before, was at the same place watching #NNPremiereScreening of Mama courtesy of Nuffnang.

Synopsis of The Last Stand: a notorious yet handsome convict in a high-speed chase by the police, the FBI. Heading towards Mexico. All effort to stop him was futile due to his damn good skill driving the Corvette ZR1. Plus his superb team that knows how to break the flimsy police barricade (duhhh). The last town he need to pass thru before Mexico, is Summerton Junction-location of Sheriff Ray (Arnold Schwarznegger).

Ok la. This movie is  not that great compared to other blockbuster movie. But I find it very enjoyable. The high speed chase was nice, though I think the FBI are way too dumb.  But the jahat-ness and creativeness of the criminals- really best!

The best part? The part I personally love the most, was at Mrs. Salazar’s house!! Haha.. everybody in the cinema was laughing non-stop, we couldn’t help ourselves!! Then after that a serious moment, Dinkum was shot. But right after that, we were laughing again coz of his clanging helmet..Oh my. The best 5mins of the movie I must say.

My verdict? Recommended! I seriously enjoy the movie. I give 5 out 5 stars for The Last Stand.
I really salute the director and the actors for being able to blend action, serious and hilariously funny altogether in the movie.

Next week, going to watch #NNPremiereScreening of Hansel & Gretel pulak. jangan jeles!

Movie Review: Mama

I’m scared of ghost and horror movies/stories. I never watch horror movies at the cinema.
But I’ve watched it 2 times because I win #NNPremiereScreening from Nuffnang. Huhu. I decided to just challenge myself, since it was free. My 1st time: Sinister.

Sharizan with his 1st ever invitation
My 2nd time: Mama. Aside from being a free premiere screening, I personally want to watch it coz I love Guillermo Del Toro’s work. My movie review of Mama: Beautifully scary. The sound effect, the ghost, the storyline-I love it! Eventhough I sometimes watched it behind my cardigan or closing my eyes, haha.

Just like Pan’s Labyrinth, it feels kinda like a twisted fairytale. The kids in Mama are awesomely scaring me with their act. The ending-not really a happy one. I didn’t find it surprising since Del Toro seems to prefer that type of ending.

My verdict: 4 out of 5.

Oh ya, I watched this ghost movie, with a “hantu” namely Fareed Adaboy.

Movie Review: Jack Reacher

Another premiere Screening. This time thanks to both Nuffnang and ChurpChurp. I won 2 contest. So end up winning 4 free tickets
to watch #NNPremiereScreening and #Churpremiere of Jack Reacher. hehehehe. Watch it last night dgn Fareed, Hanif and Hilmi at Tropicana City Mall. So here is my movie review of Jack Reacher yaa..

In case you didnt know, this movie is based from a novel by Lee Child, One Shot. I never read the novels, but watching this movie make me want to buy 1! An ex-army investigator trying to solve a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims.

As a mystery thriller novel lover, I enjoyed the 1st half of the movie. I felt like reading a book coz the dialogue is playing with words. You need to catch up, need to understand the mystery quickly. I'm happy to catch up with Jack Reacher's thoughts and his wise jokes.

Having said so, if your English is not that good, or you hate books, you will find the 1st half hour such a bore. Like Mr. Fareed who slept "occasionally". haha. He found it a bit berbelit-belit and talk too much.

Then when the investigation getting deeper, with more action, then only the beat picked up. Lots of shooting, action. Best!

My verdict: 4 star. This is the kind of movie yang I hope for James Patterson's novels. Sadly, all his novel adaptation failed. Sebab tu I refuse to watch Alex Cross latest movie  =(

Fareed's verdict: kepala berbintang2. haha.
And Tom Cruise still ensem.

Movie Review: Here Comes the Boom

As usual, i won another #NNPremiereScreening.
mode: berlagak tak hengat! haha. This time its for Here Comes the Boom.

Prior to watching it, I googled about it-as usual. Rotten Tomatoes rated it around 34%. Based from the review, I thought this was just another stupid funny movie. But what the heck, this is a free movie. So, why not?

Turns out, this is a really FEEL GOOD MOVIE! We enjoyed it from the very 1st minute off it! This was not just an OK movie, okeh?! hehe.

Here Comes the Boom is about a lazy biology teacher who was willing to enter Mixed-Martial Art (MMA) competition to raise fund to prevent a music teacher from being laid off.In doing so, he was beaten up pretty much in this movie.

For more Here Comes the Boom review-you can just google it. But what I can tell you, Salma Hayek and Charice are in this movie. The movie is funny. We were really laughing, clapping at some part. There was also "oohh" and "aaah" moment. Penonton hari ini sporting!

After the movie, I feel good. Puas! Which I dont feel too often after watching a movie. The verdict: YOU SHOULD WATCH IT. Highly recommended. Unless you are way too geli to watch fat guy in action. haha.

4 star. Better than Wreck It Ralph.

Movie Review: Soar into the Sun

For 1st time ever, I win ChurpPremiere Screening for Soar into the Sun. All because I didnt win the Nuffnang Premiere Screening contest. hehe.

Anuar sound bila mula2 kami amek gambar skema. so inilah hasilnya..
I met Anuar and Daniel there too. My team mate during with Nuffnang Genting Evangelist: Tribal Halloween event last weekend. Juga nampak Mira and Jeff.

Ok. bout the movie. I already read from online review and Rotten Tomatoes beforehand. So already expecting a so-so movie. I mainly watch this coz of Rain.hehehe..

The movie was actually better than my expectation, I a expecting lot worst. But still this movie is not great. The plot is jumpy. Here and there.

So my verdict? if you want to watch it at the cinema, go on Wednesday.
